Terms of Service

1. Acceptance

By registering, logging in, posting listings, using chat, creating agreements, buying coins, or using Punjai, you accept these terms and our Privacy Policy.

2. Punjai’s Role

Punjai is a technology platform that helps users find, screen, and communicate with potential roommates and draft online co-living agreements. Roommate agreements are not the primary lease with a landlord or property owner.

3. Accounts and Verification

• You must provide accurate and current information.
• You are responsible for securing your account, password, and devices.
• KYC increases trust but does not guarantee that every user is risk-free.

4. Listings and Images

Posters must have the right to provide room or roommate information and must not include false, illegal, infringing, or off-platform solicitation content that bypasses Punjai safety systems.

Punjai may use automated or AI moderation to detect QR codes, phone numbers, external contact channels, or inappropriate content, and may reject or remove such content.

5. Chat and Roommate Agreements

• Chat is for discussing details and keeping supporting evidence.
• Roommate agreements record rent shares, deposits, house rules, signing status, timestamps, and IP evidence.
• Users should verify the actual room, ownership/lease rights, and landlord terms before paying or moving in.

6. Coins, Payments, and Refunds

Punjai coins are for platform services such as optional features, listings, or the pooled damage compensation plan. Coins are not e-money, are not cash-redeemable, and refunds are subject to the terms shown at checkout or top-up pages.

7. Damage Compensation (Pooled Fund)

Damage compensation is an optional service from Punjai's limited pooled fund. It is not an insurance policy and Punjai is not an insurer. It covers eligible in-room item or equipment damage based on verifiable evidence, subject to per-agreement caps, timing rules, and admin approval as shown on the agreement page.

• Payouts come from a shared pool (member contributions + platform reserve). If the pool is insufficient, claims may not be paid even when otherwise eligible.
• Live pool balance is shown on agreement pages — read the full plan terms on the damage compensation page.
• Approved claims are paid within 60 days. If the pool is insufficient, claims may be queued or paid pro-rata.

8. Prohibited Conduct

• Fraud, impersonation, fake documents, or false information.
• Harassment, discrimination, abuse, or doxxing.
• Encouraging off-platform payments or communications to bypass safety protections.
• Uploading illegal, infringing, or unauthorized external contact content.

9. Suspension and Content Removal

Punjai may warn, restrict, suspend accounts, remove listings, reject images, or terminate access when safety risks, term violations, or illegal activity are detected.

10. Limitation of Liability

Punjai aims to provide safe and transparent tools but cannot guarantee user behavior, actual room condition, matching outcomes, or dispute results. Users should use judgment, verify information, and keep evidence before making decisions.

11. Changes to Terms

We may update these terms from time to time. For material changes, we will try to notify users through the website or appropriate channels.
